This marker temple is located on highest point of the whole Koh Ker site. It is located about 2500m southeast of Prasat Thom. Prasat Kok Krong is among the few rectangular brick temples on this site, and is oriented east. One of its sandstone doorframes is carved with the notable Inscription K.675 whose text is equally distributed on both sides of the door in 21 stanzas, citing deities such as Shiva, Ganga, Vishnu, Braham, Uma as well as Bharati and Kambu known as the first Khmer ancestor. The text also highlights the successful achievement of Jayavarman IV in constructing the great Prasat Prang with its gigantic Linga. The inscription’s evocation of Ganga, the most sacred river of India, is significant here, since the water from this temple is sanctified before it flows into the Rahal.
