Mr. PHIN Samnang, a graduate bachelor of the Royal University of Fine Arts, Faculty of Archaeology in 2006, has extensive experience in archaeology, art history, and museum work. He has worked on various sites, assemblages, collections, and displays, and has collaborated with international teams on archaeological projects. He has authored pottery inventories, attended the Angkor Conservation workshop, and participated in archaeological excavations with Japanese researchers at Phum Snay and the National Museum in Siem Reap Province.

From 2007 to 2014, he worked as a technical staff at the APSARA National Authority. In 2008, he was encouraged to work as a site conservator at Koh Ker site, gaining experience in archaeology, survey, excavation, conservation, and mapping. In 2014, he returned to work with the International Center for Documentation and Research at the APSARA National Authority's main office in Siem Reap. He collaborated with EFEO to excavate the east gate of Prasat Chen and participated in archaeological excavations at Banteay Kdey temple.

In 2015, he joined an international team from the Nalanda-Srivijaya Centre of ISEAS Yusof Ishak institute in Singapore for excavation at Koh Ker. They collaborated with APSARA National Authority to run a field school program in Cambodia and Singapore. In 2016, he became a Site-Operations manager, where he designed research, analyzed findings, managed excavations, trained international students, produced reports, and contributed to professional publications.

In 2017, he transferred to work at the National Authority for Preah Vihear (NAPV) and worked in the Department of Monument and Archaeology, focusing on archaeological site survey and mapping. While working at Authority for Preah Vihear he joined several workshops and short courses abroad in the field of cultural heritage conservation, and archaeological research such as in China, Japan, and India.

From 2108 to 2020, he was part of a team preparing documentation for the Koh Ker dossier and Koh Ker Management Plan for submitting the site as a world heritage site. Mr. PHIN Samnang is currently appointing as Director of Department of Research Training and Documentation of National Authority for Preah Vihear.
